Mentoring
There are many titles out there, which all have different nuances, however, when I speak to people about my title “Business Confidence Mentor for Mums”, often the mentorship element is that which is least understood. I have qualifications and skills in a number of areas – counselling, coaching, practical business skills. And I wanted to create a 1:1 programme, which allowed me to use all/any of these skills depending on the needs of my clients.
I know, through my own experiences of business, that there are times when I have needed all of these myself, and still tap in and use experts in all of these areas, as the need arises.
For me, mentorship is about bringing my experience as a business owner, my skills as a virtual assistant, and my passion to support other Mums in their journey to create a successful and sustainable business, together. Providing that platform for Mums to set ambitions yet realistic goals, explore the challenges that hold them back and offer practical advice on creating systems to develop their business, while still being able to put their focus on their families.
So… Who am I? I am Kate Butcher. During my career I have been a counsellor, a barmaid/waitress, a pub/restaurant landlady, I have sold children’s books, had a hospitality consultancy, been a virtual assistant, and also have training in being a coach. I also have a small property investment company, investing in BTL properties in the North East of England. I have run networking groups, have a podcast and worked primarily with Mums in their own businesses for the last few years. I have brought these experiences and skills together, to create my 1:1 mentoring programme for Mums who are ready to take the leap in their business.

- Essentials to get your business started – a detailed look at researching your business, and competitors. Choosing/reviewing your business structure. What are self-assessment, Corporation tax & VAT and do they apply to you? Financial planning and business banking.
- Find your motivations and your “why” behind your business and bring this into your daily routines to continue to drive your forward and provide ongoing motivation on tough days.
- Working with you on setting up/updating your website, mailing list, social media channels, and how to create professional graphics to market your business. Systemising your content creation.
- Marketing on Social Media and offline. Build your confidence to sell your business to the right customers.
- How to manage your time and be organised so that you can juggle parenting and business as effectively as possible.
- How to create effective sales funnels – build your customers trust in your business, to push them across the sales line.
- Work on your mindset – work through your fears and use them to your advantage, learn strategies and habits to master your life.
- Go above and beyond to deliver customer service that enchants your customers. Learn about how to personalise your service, show a genuine interest in your customers, so that they will become your best sales tool.

- All mentoring includes dedicated 1:1 sessions with me, the times of which will be arranged in advance, at a mutually convenient time.

- A business plan
- Content planning documents, in one of 2 formats to plan your content, depending on your preference.
- My support and experience on a number of tools and platforms to help you to set up or optimise websites, mailing lists, bookkeeping, and a variety of other business processes.
- Access to me to message me for feedback and advice at any time during the mentoring (responses will be within a reasonable time frame, depending business and family commitments).
