Today’s episode is an interview with Vicki Bowden.   Vicki is a Mum of 2 children and runs her businesses V Bowden Photography and Early Years Mum, focusing on delivering services that really support Mums in the first few years of Motherhood.  I spoke to Vicki about some of the challenges that she has faced juggling business and Motherhood, and she shared some insights with me as to how she has worked through these challenges.  And of course some book recommendations (see list below). Here are some of the key takeaways from this episode:

  • Vicki talks about going from a job where she never imagined doing anything else, to running her own business.
  • How your outlook on work can totally change, when you have children.
  • Finding her own style in her photography business, drawing on her own experience of Motherhood as a strong influence.
  • Managing imposter syndrome.
  • Being authentic on social media.
  • Managing expectations on what you can achieve with a baby at home.
  • Getting your pricing right so that you don’t undervalue yourself.
  • You are not always the best person to do all of the tasks in your business, and how to get past the need to be in control.
